Cedarburg Science staff members have extensive training and education in planning, natural areas management, wetland identification, rare species surveys, and restoration ecology.  We are familiar with developing natural landscape plans and utilizing non-invasive species to increase biodiversity and ecosystem heath. We frequently conduct restoration activities, habitat assessments, and wetland assessments.  We develop permits, and prepare habitat management plans.

Our staff includes certified Wetland Scientists, certified Pesticide Applicators, and a Registered Environmental Manager.  We have woodland, wetland and prairie specialists, habitat managers, and ecologists. In addition to our senior Project Management capabilities, our teams have extensive professional training and educational backgrounds in wetlands, ecology, biology, and botany.

Cedarburg Science has a good track record of working with permitting projects for regulatory agencies across the Upper Midwest.  This includes the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (WDNR), the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), as well as many local, state and federal agencies that become involved in the regulatory process.

Much of our work involves conservation-based planning and design, management and monitoring.  Cedarburg Science professionals have been involved with a number of organizations, including local RC&Ds, the Milwaukee Green Team, the Ulao Creek Partnership, Riveredge Nature Center and the restoration of Chiwaukee Prairie (The nature Conservancy).

Cedarburg Science has prepared comprehensive but user-friendly reports after having conducted citizen meetings and field evaluation. We developed the Ulao Creek Watershed Stewardship and Restoration Plan, the Milwaukee County Land and Water Plan, and the Village of Fontana Park and Open Space Plan.  We are actively involved with the Chiwaukee Prairie Management and Restoration Project in Kenosha County. Our staff conduct Endangered and Threatened Species surveys, and have been actively involved in several rare plant surveys, bird surveys, surveys of the Hine’s emerald dragonfly, Karner blue butterfly, and Butler’s Gartersnake.
